EMIRATES AIRLINES DELEGATION IN UGANDA FOR TOURISM INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The delegation of 11 high-level executives of Emirates Airlines landed in the Pearl of Africa for a 6-day familiarization trip following the partnership deal sealed between the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and Emirates Airlines in May 2024 to promote Uganda as a premier tourism destination.

The team led by Kibedi Zaake, Uganda’s Ambassador in Abu Dhubi (United Arab Emirates), was received by Lilly Ajarova, the UTB chief executive officer at Entebbe airport on Tuesday.

In her welcoming remarks, Ajarova noted that the partnership between UTB and Emirates Airlines demonstrates the shared commitment to promoting Uganda as a must visit destination.

“The familiarization trip is a testament to the strategic importance of collaboration that enhances connectivity and showcases Uganda’s unique tourism offerings to the world. Together, we are opening new doors for travelers to discover the beauty, culture, and adventure that define the
Pearl of Africa.”

Mohamed Taher, the country manager for Emirates Airlines, expressed total commitment in the collaboration, saying, “Uganda is a much loved destination on our African network, due to its stunning natural landscapes, wildlife, adventure sports and warm culture. We look forward to more international travellers from across our global footprint discovering this
hidden gem.”

The Uganda’s Ambassador in Abu Dhubi (United Arab Emirates), Kibedi Zaake highlighted that the visit is a step forward in strengthening the ties between Uganda and UAE through the Emirates Airlines.

In addition, the Ambassador said that by showcasing Uganda’s exceptional tourism assets, they aim to build lasting partnerships that will bring more visitors to experience the Pearl of Africa.

The delegation is expected to explore the unique tourism opportunities to understand what makes Uganda such a favourable destination on Emirates’ vast global network.

UTB remains committed to forging strategic partnerships that enhance the visibility of Uganda’s tourism potential, and this collaboration with Emirates underscores the Uganda Tourism Board’s dedication to unlocking new opportunities for the tourism sector while creating meaningful connections with international travel stakeholders.
